The next meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University was held on May 18. Rector of the  university, chairman of the Scientific council, professor Elkhan Huseynov opened the meeting, greeted the members of the Scientific council,the staff of the professor-lecturer  and informed about the current issues.

He said that a meeting with National  poet Vahid Aziz "Shadow of love of the word" was organized by the faculty of Philology of the university on May 17.

At the end of the meeting, the staff proposed to present the poet's book "Param-parça illər (Broken pieces years) ..." to the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The rector gave the floor to the dean of the faculty of Philology, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva.

The dean noted that the book of poems by  Vahid Aziz "Param-parça illər” ..." was discussed with the participation of faculty and students of SSU  as well as  the decision of the meeting of the faculty of Philology dated 10.05.2022 (prot. № 08) it was recommended to the Scientific council of SSU to submit the book to the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan.  

Then, members of the Scientific Council expressed their views on the book of poems "Param-parça  illər ..." by National  poet Vahid Aziz. Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, professor Avtandil Mammadov, professor Mukhtar Samadov, associate professor Gadir Mansurov, associate professor Sona Maharramova said that the author's poems were written in the spirit of high.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov said that the National  poet Vahid Aziz was a truthful patriot and supported the idea of ​​nominating the book for the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Then it was decided to nominate the book for the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the opinion of the Scientific council of SSU on the book was approved.

Faig Shirinov, director of the Methodological Center for Undergraduate Education, Sabir Khalilov, head of the department of doctoral and master's degrees at the Master's Level, Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU associate professor Matanat Pirguliyeva informed about the preparation of  the exam session of the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year and  State attestation. They noted that all faculties of SSU, as well as Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU are making serious efforts to complete the necessary work on the exam session and state certification of the spring semester. Deans of faculties and heads of departments have been instructed to prepare the necessary documents and submit them to the relevant departments in time to ensure the examination session of the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year and the organized state certification.

Professor Javanshir Mammadov, head of the Process Automation Department and Samir Orujov  head of the Scientific department spoke  about the work done at the university to establish a modern "Innovation Creativity Center" at SSU, the results of studying foreign experience in this field and the tasks ahead. They noted that it is expedient to establish an expert assessment group on relevant specialties, an innovation fund on ideas and a Mentor group on relevant specialties with the involvement of specialists from SSU and industrial enterprises. In order to organize trainings for the Mentor group in this direction, it was considered expedient to invite trainers from Turkey in the first stage, and in the second stage to send mentors to gain experience to   the existing technoparks in Turkey.

Taking into account the relevance and prospects of the issue, it was decided to establish a working group headed by vice-rector for Science and Innovations professor Ramazan Mammadov to systematize the proposals of rector professor Elkhan Huseynov and develop  a work plan in this direction.

Scientific secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov informed about the granting of the right to publish textbooks. He noted that the Academic Council received 1 textbook and 3 subject programs for the right to publish. These teaching aids were reviewed in the departments of the Editorial and Publishing Council and the Teaching-Methodical Council of the University in accordance with the teaching aids, and recommended to the Scientific council with an expert opinion.

After the discussion of the issues on the agenda, the Scientific secretary, professor Mukhtar Samadov  informed  the decision of the discussed issues  to  the members of the council and the decisions were made  unanimously.

Then the rector introduced vice-rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Elmar Khalilov, chairman of the university Trade Union Committee Nemat Ibayev, chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee Tayfun Hajili, the new chairman of the Student Youth Organization Elmin Novruzlu to the staff and congratulated them on their new appointments.
