Sports club

Sports club has been operating at Sumgayit State University since 02.10.2015 for the purpose of physical health of students and employees, effective organization of leisure time and creating interest in various types of sports.

The manager of the sports club, the honored coach is associate professor Zakir Mammadov. The trainers of the club are Polad Aliyev, Rauf Tairov, Mirvari Karimova, Azer Rzayev, Javanshir Agakishiyev, and the operator is Valida Yusifova.

The club operates for directing students to physical education and involving them in university sports exercises, organizing intra-university tournaments, holding qualifying competitions in various types of sports.

In the sports base of the university, there is a standard large gymnasium, fencing hall, mini-football field, outdoor chessboard, volleyball court, stadium, badminton, tennis courts, and simple gymnastics facilities.

Table tennis, chess, checkers, football, mini-football, basketball, volleyball, fencing sections operate in the club.

Sports club of SSU cooperates with Baku State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, Baku State University, as well as Kazakhstan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports.
