On February 17 on the initiative of the Executive Power of Sumqayit, the deputies of National Assembly Mr. Mukhtar Babayev and Mr. Tahir Mirkishili held the meeting with the staff of SSU. 
The rector of the University prof. Elkhan Huseynov began the event with the opening speech.
The rector of the University prof. Elkhan Huseynov said that he was pleased to see deputies at our university.
Then the detailed information about purpose and essenceof event was given by the rector. It was noted that at present education plays an important role in the development of the state. The state can be developed by the activity of highly educated people. Today great attention is paid to the field in our country. 
The activity of the president Ilham Aliyev plays an important pole in the development of education.
It was noted that the strategic direction for the reform of the modern educational system has been carried out at our university. The rector informed about the future works. At the meeting deputy Mr. Mukhtar Babayev welcomed the university’s staff. He noted that this university is native 2 to him. Hi said that recent construction and renovation works of the university are at a high level. Mr. Mukhtar Babayev stressed that the cooperation between “Azerkimya” production Union and SSU are deepened. Deputy Mr. Tahir Mirkishili told about social and political events occurring in the country. He also mentioned non-oil sector. Mr. Tahir Mirkishili stressed that the president Ilham Aliyev is always very sensitive to the problems of our country. It was noted that in order minimize the impact of the economic crisis, the development  Programme is being prepared. At the end of the meeting deputies answered the questions of students and teachers, then commented on their proposals.
