There took place sports games festival in our university.
The winner teams were rewarded with various presents.
In theprocess of gradual development of sports and physical culture in our country, in higher institutions also this field is given special attention. Inspiring from it our university also pays great attentito the development of this field. As we know holding various tournirs have al ready become a custom in Sumgait State University. There took place sports games festival among the colleagues of our university on three kind of sports: chess, checkers, backgammon from the 9 th of February up to 12 th  of February with the organization of Trade Union Commi tee and Sports Club. This festival was dedicated to the ‘’ Physical culture and sports day”.
So there were winners in the field of chess competition. The employees of the faculty ‘’ Eco nomics and Management’’ gained the  first place, the  participiants from the faculty ‘’ Physics and Electroenergetics” gained the second place, but the attendants fom the faculty of ‘’Mathe matics’’ were in the third place.  In the competition of backgammon: the faculty of ‘’Mathema tics’’ first place , the faculty of ‘’ Economics and Management’’ second place, ‘’Physics and Elec troenergetics’’ was in the third place. In the competition of checkers :  ‘’ Chemistry and Bio logy’’ gained the first place, the workers of ‘’ Mathematics’’ gained the second place, the atten dants from the faculty of ‘’Economics and management” were in the third place.
According to the final results the participiants of the faculty  ‘’Economics and Management’’ gained the first place, the faculty of “ Chemistry and Biology’’ second place, the  third place was gained by the attendants from the faculty of ‘’ Physics and Electroenergetics’’. The winner teams were rewarded with presents.
