Applied Chemistry
Applied chemistry (SRL) was established by  the order No. 267/06 of the rector of SSU dated 14.08.10.
Applied chemistry (SRL) has been operating since 2010 within the faculty of Chemistry and biology of SSU. In 2010‒2014 d.chem, prof.  Niyaz Rasulzadeh  Shahid oglu was in charge. In those years, the laboratory staff conducted research on "Research of the process of synthesis of motor oils based on ethylene-propylene copolymers and polyisoprene, development of the technological scheme of the process and preparation of a pilot unit".
From 2014 to 2015, the head of the laboratory was entrusted to  Matlab Hatamov Murtuz oglu, the chief scientific worker of the laboratory on social grounds.
In 2015,   prof. Ashurov Dursun Ahmed oglu was in charge.
Thematic plan for 2016-2020: Production of sodium hypochlorite by the oxidation of saline seawater at the anode.
Associate professor Hatamov Matlab Murtuz oglu has been the head of the laboratory since March 2017.
Environmental monitoring (SRL) was established on 01.02.2001 according to order No. 91 of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The laboratory has been operating since June 2001. In 2001‒2004,  A.E. Eyyubov, and in 2004‒2017, candidate chemistry sciences  C.V. Mammadov led. Currently, laboratory employees are engaged in scientific research work  about the topic of "Cellulose activation methods". During the activity of the laboratory, AR and APT patents were obtained, articles and theses were published in the republic and abroad.
Since November 2018, Environmental monitoring SRL has been merged with Applied Chemistry SRL and started operating under the name of Applied Chemistry SRL under the department of Petrochemistry and Chemical engineering. The laboratory is headed by M.M. Hatamov, Ph.D. in technology.
Scientific-research works were carried out in the laboratory on the topic "Study of the process of obtaining sodium hypochlorite as a result of the oxidation of salt water in the anode".
Thematic plan of 2021‒2025: Halogenation, alkylation of aromatic compounds in an electrochemical system and study of application areas of the received halogenated compounds.
Currently, the II stage of the scientific research work is being carried out (Toluene bromination in an electrochemical system. Alkenylphenol halogenation. Fields of application of the obtained compounds).
6 (six) employees work in the laboratory, including 2 (two) candidates of sciences, 1 (one) scientific worker, 2 (two) junior scientific workers and 1 (one) chief laboratory technician, 2 (two) dissertator  and one  Ph.D student are engaged in scientific work.
