Electronics and computer technology
The department was founded in 1971. The department operating under the name of Industrial electrical engineering, Robotics and automation tools, Electronic devices and automation tools, Information and computer technology was renamed Electronics and computer technology in the new edition by order No. R 11/1 dated January 23, 2023 on SSU.
The department of Electronics and computer technology is headed by candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Gadir Mansurov Mammad oglu.
4 associate professors and 6 senior lecturers work in the department. The auxiliary staff consists of the laboratory director, 2 senior laboratory assistants and 2 laboratory assistants.

At the undergraduate level of education, staff training is carried out on the specialty 050620-Computer engineering, on the master's level 060631-Computer engineering specialization, on the doctoral level 3337.01-Information-measurement and management systems specialty.

The department has four teaching laboratories and one specialized auditorium. Teaching laboratories are equipped with modern equipment for computer technology, measuring technology, electronic technology, sensor systems and automation technology.
The latest achievements of science and technology in the field of information and communication technology (application program packages, virtual devices, etc.) are widely used in teaching.
The educational methodical complex of the subjects taught in the department (textbook, teaching materials, methodical materials, laboratory work instructions, etc.) and their electronic version have been created.
A local computer network with access to the global Internet has been created in the laboratories of the department.
The main direction of the scientific activity of the department is on specialties 3337.01-Information-measurement and control systems and 3304.01 - Computer devices and technology. The topic of scientific research work for 2021-2025 is "Development of elements and devices of information systems based on virtual device technologies".
For their effective scientific and pedagogical activities in the training of highly qualified personnel, associate professor Khalilov Sabir Agakishi oglu was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan", associate professor Huseynova Afat Sudef gizi and senior lecturer Mammadova Rade Jahangir gizi were awarded the badge of "leading educational worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
In 2021, the textbook "Laboratory work with the application of ГАЛСЕН® ОЦТ-Н-Р laboratory equipment" published by the department's staff won the "Best textbook" competition held at SSU in 2021.
The department exchanges scientific experience with a number of universities, including Ufa State Technical University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan Engineering University, Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University.
