ENGLISH TEACHER ASSISTANT FROM AMERICA JACK MORRIS HELD A SEMINAR WITHIN ERASMUS+PETRA PROJECT
On December 14, the seminar was held at the university on “Conducting research and the rules of writing effective summary” within the project “Promoting excellence in teaching and learning in Azerbaijani universities”. It is worth to note that the seminar was organized according to the Research opportunities section of action plan of ERASMUS+PETRA project.
At first, SSU staff member of PETRA project, head of Department of International Cooperation PhD in history Samira Mammadova hailed the guests and launched the event.
Chairwoman of Department of Foreign languages Professor Nigar Isgandarova gave information about ERASMUS+PETRA project and introduced Jack Morris, who is working as a teacher assistant at SSU within USA Embassy’s Fulbright program, to seminar participants.
Jack Morris moderated the seminar and widely spoke about writing rules of dissertation, choosing proper literature, thesis statement and name, considering grammatical issues, the stage of editing, citation and the use of Wikipedia and other internet resources.
The employees of Scientific Section, Linguistic Center and Evaluation and quality control section participated in the training. Lecturers and students of the Faculty of History and geography, Physics and electroenergetics, Chemistry and biology and Philology took part in the meeting.
The questions of participants were responded by Jack Morris and the guests discussed the topic.
