II CONGRESS OF AZERBAIJANI STUDENTS CONCLUDED
On December 21, II congress of Azerbaijani students was held at Heydar Aliyev Center, co-organized by Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Chairwoman of the Department of Humanitarian Policy Issues of President Administration Farah Aliyeva, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, head of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union Shahin Ismayilov, members of parliament, university rectors, education experts, chiefs of media agencies and students took part in the congress.
The event launched with the sounding of State anthem of Azerbaijan Republic.
Department of Humanitarian Policy Issues of President Administration Farah Aliyeva read the congratulation letter of First vice-president of Azerbaijan Republic Mehriban Aliyeva to congress attendees.
Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov highlighted that youth policy founded by National leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully carried out by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that Azerbaijani youth and students play special role in political, economic and social life of the country and wished success to congress participants.
Afterwards, Ministry of Education Jeyhun Bayramov gave wide information about education and youth policy implemented in the country and stressed that the youth is surrounded with state care and attention. “After adoption of “State Strategy on development of education in Azerbaijan Republic” higher education system improved, cadre potential and material-technical base of the universities strengthened. At present, 157 662 students are studying in bachelor’s degree at Azerbaijani universities, 13 442 students in master’s degree and 510 819 in vocational institutions”.
Head of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union Shahin Ismayilov mentioned about the projects carried out about students and youth in the congress.
Then, the film about Azerbaijani students was shown. The event went on with speeches of the students and the resolution of the congress was adopted.
It is worth to note that a group of students of Sumgayit State University took part in the congress.
