On December 25, the competition of Cheerful and Witty Club was held among faculties at Sumgayit State University.

At first, Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the guests and noted that Azerbaijani youth differs with its activity in all spheres of social life and plays significant role in implementation of political, economic, humanitarian and social measures. “For revealing the talent of young people, the government carries out special projects. Using the potential of youth more efficiently for the advancement of the country is a basis of government’s youth policy”, he said. Rector also notified that Sumgayit State University has created necessary conditions for making effective use of leisure time of students, as well as revealing the students with special abilities. The University regularly holds events for this purpose; therefore our students are being awarded the Cup in competitions of Cheerful and Witty Club held among universities, in music and poem contests and other competitions.

Professor Elkhan Huseynov expressed his gratitude to jury and artistic director of the Club Majid Huseynov for preparing the teams of Cheerful and Witty Club on faculties.

“Skhema” team of Engineering faculty was awarded I place.

The jury included actors Tarlan Nur Yashar, Elsevar Mehdizade, Ramiz Huseynzade, scriptwriter and actor of “Parni iz Baku” theatre Alakbar Aliyev, two-time World champion, triple European champion on kickboxing Elnur Mahmudov. They thanked to winners for their creative approach and active participation.
