The new project launched by financial support of Youth Foundation of Azerbaijan Republic, by organization of ASAN Volunteer School and ASAN Volunteers Organization and informational support of ASAN Radio for promoting voluntary activity to students and increasing the interest of youth to this field. For this reason, on December 26, the meeting was held with volunteer students within the project entitled “From one volunteer to a thousand volunteers” at Sumgayit State University.

Project manager Narmin Jahangirova delivered speech in the meeting and gave wide information about the project and notified that Youth Foundation of Azerbaijan Republic annually announces grant competition for financing projects and programs in the field of science, education, culture and others social fields. This year the winners of that grant competition took part in the project “From one volunteer to a thousand volunteers”. Narmin Jahangirova also mentioned that the students of Sumgayit State University, the only higher education institution of our city, are always interested in voluntary activities. It is not coincidence that we have organized opening and first meeting of the project for the students of Sumgayit State University.

Sector head of Work with volunteers of State Agency Sahil Mammadov, director of Sumgayit Regional ASAN Service Center Kamala Rahimova, chairwoman of ASAN Volunteers Organization Sabina Jabbarova, deputy head of Sumgayit Youth Sports Head Office Mubariz Bashirov and head of Sumgayit city Office of Red Crescent Society Matanat Maharramova delivered speech in the meeting and highlighted state care in direction of implementation of voluntary activity. The speakers notified that the President highly appreciates the students’ activity as volunteers in republican and international events. They also wished success to young people.

“Voluntariness – the story of success” was heard in the event by the speaker on the project Nurlan Samadli.

The event consisted of 2 parts. After the speeches, instructor Rashad Mammadov met students in the second part of the event.
