The event held entitled “The Earth is our home”
On April 23, the event entitled “The Earth is our home” was held by the organization of Ecology department of Chemistry and Biology faculty.
Along with lecturers and students of the faculty, branch manager of Sumgait section №4 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Republic Vusal Ibrahimli, employee of the section Mehdi Khudaverdiyev, workers of the Center for Development of Children and Youth № 1 Sevinj Maharramova, Naiba Aliyeva took part in the event.
Dean of the Chemistry and Biology faculty docent Mahal Muradov welcomed the participants and gave information about ecological policy of Azerbaijan Republic, climate changes and the works done in the sphere of environment protection.
Talking about the importance of the event head of Ecology department, associate professor Rahila Ahmedova said that the aim of the International Earth Day is to draw attention of mankind to the Earth’s ecological system’s sensitiveness and to inspire people to be more attentive towards the planet Earth which is our home. She noted: “Earth Day is marked on April 22 in 192 countries every year. Special care of government shown to ecological issues and achievements gained at socio-economic life of our republic will give its positive results in implementation of measures directed to improve the environment”.
Branch manager of Sumgait section №4 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Republic Vusal Ibrahimli delivered speech and called the youth to be more active in protection of environment.
The event went on with interesting facts and information about the Earth, prepared by the students.
