STUDENTS AND LECTURERS OF PHYSICS AND ELECTROENERGETICS FACULTY WENT ON AN EXCURSION TO SHIRVAN CONDENSATE POWER PLANT
The students and the lecturers the Faculty of Physics and electroenergetics of SSU went on an excursion to Sumgayit Electric Power Station and Mingachevir water Power Station in autumn semester of 2018-2019 academic year.
On May 18, the lecturers of the Department of Electrotechnics and energetics docent Sh.H.Mammadov, G.A.Alasgarov, senior lecturers S.J.Abdullayeva, K.R.Hajiyeva, S.M.Jabbarova and the faculty students under the guidance of department head docent Nadir Hajibalayev took an excursion to Shirvan Condensate Power Plant.
Deputy senior engineer Alasgar Ismayilov and head of Electrical department Safar Jafarov sincerely welcomed the delegation of the university at Janub Power Plant, who participated in the excursion and gave information about the station. They noted that 780 MW Janub Power Plant was founded by President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on December 24, 2007 and commissioned on July 1, 2013.
The students got acquainted with GIS type substation with capacity of 330/220/110 KW, 6 uplifting transformers with capacity of 180 MW amperes, 4 system transformers with capacity of 250 MW amperes and 4 special transformers with 25 MW amperes, cables and air lines with capacity of 330, 220, 110 KW and 130 km “Janub Power Plant – Big Shor Substation” air line with capacity of 220 KW.
It was noted that 110 KW lines are the products of Sumgayit Technology Park. Generally, 150 km power cables with capacity of 6 and 0.4 KW and over 1000 km signal and size cables are used in the station, which are the production of Sumgayit Technology Park. Modern equipment is installed in head corpus of the station. There are 4 gas turbines with capacity of 128 MW, 2 steam turbines with 135 MW, 6 generators with 160 MW amperes and other necessary equipment.
The volume of reinforced concrete products is 82 000 m3. It works on three types of fuel, namely, gas, diesel fuel and black oil. The station’s activity is both qualitative and economical. It is possible to economize 780 million m3 gas and 650 000 tons black oil by the function of this giant plant.
Deputy senior engineer Alasgar Ismayilov, head of Electrical department Safar Jafarov, head of Boiler-turbine department Fayyar Nuriyev and head of Chemistry department Ilham Aliyev responded all questions of the students.
The students expressed their gratitude to rector of University Professor Elkhan Huseynov, Faculty dean docent T.Ahmadova, vice-president of Azerenergy OJSC Z.M.Guliyev, deputy senior engineer Alasgar Ismayilov, head of Electrical department Safar Jafarov, head of Boiler-turbine department Fayyar Nuriyev and head of Chemistry department Ilham Aliyev for the organization of excursion.
