On October 11, with the organizational support of the Student Youth Organization, SSU celebrated International Day of Girls.

The main purpose of this event is to ensure the protection of the rights of girls in society, ensure gender equality and prevent discrimination.

The event was opened by the chairman of the Student Youth Organization Tayfun Hajili. He congratulated the girls and noted that this date was approved by the UN General Assembly in order to attract the attention of the world community to the problems of girls and protect their rights. Among these problems are education, healthy nutrition, the possibility of obtaining medical care, social rights, gender discrimination, domestic violence, compulsion to early marriage.

Women's rights in Azerbaijan are regulated by law. Joint monitoring of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children and the State Labor Inspectorate under the Ministry of Social Protection is periodically conducted, which identify facts of school evasion and take measures to eliminate them. Speakers were associate professor of the Faculty of History and Geography Javid Mamiyev, Ph.D. in pedagogy Sevinj Karimova, lecturer Aygun Sattarova, student Elbey Hamidli. They talked about the history of the establishment of Girls Day. It was noted that measures are being taken in the country to protect the rights of girls and solve their problems. Girls are future mothers who should have knowledge and a broad outlook in order to bring up worthy children.
