Once again, the salary of employees of Sumgayit State University has been increased.

The focus of the policy pursued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is the solution of social issues and the strengthening of social protection of the population. Every day the range of measures to increase the social well-being of citizens of the country is expanding.

Since the beginning of 2019, important steps have been taken to increase salaries, pensions and allowances, to issue compensations to the families of martyrs, to fully insure citizens' deposits, to expand the self-employment program, and to improve the living conditions of the population. According to the decree of the President of the country dated February 14, 2019 “On the issue of scholarships for doctoral students, students studying in universities, colleges, and also at the master's level of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan,” the scholarship was increased for these categories of students. Since March 1, the number of students receiving scholarships has been increased by 16,000. All this is evidence of the government’s concern for the citizens of the country.

In the new academic year, the number of students studying on a state basis and the amount of expenses allocated to their education were increased. According to the Decree, from September 1, 2019, the expenditure on education of each student studying on a state basis increased by an average of 30%. Due to these opportunities, Sumgayit State University, guided by the social policy of the Azerbaijani state, in order to increase material well-being and strengthen social protection of employees, increased their salaries by an average of 18.5%.

It should be noted that at the beginning of this year, the salary of employees has already been increased. The created conditions and state care inspire the university staff to new creative achievements.
