On February 21, a theoretical and practical seminar for a group of students was held at Sumgayit State University with the financial support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organizational support of the Technopark and the Innovation Center of Baku Engineering University and the Azerbaijan Academy of Robotic Engineering (AARE) within the framework of the project “Ways for the effective use of digital technologies by youth” for the students of Faculty of Engineering about “Digital Twin” technologies and the use of the and “Digital Twin” technology with Matlab software.

The seminar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering assoc.prof. Ulduz Aghayev. He said that at the beginning of the 21st century, the use of information and communication technologies is one of the main factors in the development of society. At the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, effective measures have been taken in the use of ICTs in the country. In all areas of society, including education, innovations are applied that meet the requirements of the day. Further, the dean spoke about the effective use of information technology in the faculty he runs, the management of information systems, computer graphics software and the training of qualified personnel in creating advanced technologies.

Seminar instructor, vice-rector for International Relations of BEU associate professor Manafeddin Namazov explained the relevance of “Digital Twin” technologies, their significance, areas of application in modern industry and prospects via presentation and video materials. He said that “Digital Twin” technology and its Matlab software will help students expand their theoretical and practical knowledge of their use.

Then, on the basis of practical tasks, the participants in the seminar were shown a sample of a solution to the problem on a computer.

In conclusion, the seminar participants received certificates and gifts, which depicted the partners’ logo and the name of the project.
