The 97th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who has made an exceptional contribution to the fate of the state and people of Azerbaijan, the comprehensive progress and success of the country, is marked online at Sumgayit State University with a series of events.

An online event dedicated to the 97th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was organized by the Student Youth Organization at the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics of Sumgayit State University on May 8.

Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Tamella Ahmadova, gave detailed information about the founder and architect of the Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev, noting that dedicating his life to the progress of his beloved homeland, Heydar Aliyev has been preparing the ground for our state independence since the period of Soviet power. The dean also noted that the formation of civil society in modern Azerbaijan, the return to national and spiritual values, the development of science, education and culture are associated with the name of the Great Leader. The state policy, founded by the great leader, is successfully continued today thanks to the deep and wise intellect and strong leadership skills of his worthy successor Ilham Aliyev. Today, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our country is on the path of great development.

Maqsad Mohsumzade, a third-year student of the Faculty of Physics and Electroenergetics, Nargiz Shahvaladova, a first-year student, and other speakers spoke about the glorious life of the great leader and his historical services to our country. They noted that the historical destiny of Azerbaijan, which covers more than 30 years, is connected with the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. During these years, the revival in all spheres of socio-political, economic and cultural life of the people is associated with his name. During this period under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, his homeland, which he always strived for progress, was always proud of its rich culture, great historical past and thought about the fate of future generations. Seeing that his people were left in such a difficult day, Heydar Aliyev accepted their invitation and returned to big politics in Azerbaijan. The people welcomed this return of the great leader with hope and joy, and wrote that day in the history of independent Azerbaijan as the Day of National Salvation.

At the end of the event, first-year students Samra Babayeva and Nisa Mammadova recited the poem "Inextinguishable is eternal" dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev.
