The new type of coronavirus has become the number one problem of mankind, overshadowing all diseases on Earth. At present, each state is fighting a pandemic and trying to get its citizens out of the maximum difficult situation with minimal losses. A new stage of this process - vaccination - has already begun. Of course, the Azerbaijani state, as always, takes all necessary measures to protect human health. On January 18, our country launched the first vaccination campaign in the South Caucasus. At the same time, as a result of the leadership and far-sighted policy of President Ilham Aliyev, our country is one of the leading countries in the region in this direction.

In accordance with the "Strategy of Vaccination against COVID-19 in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2021-2022", the vaccination process of employees over 65 years of age of Sumgayit State University began on February 9. This information was given on the official website of SSU and information boards were hung in the lobby of all three educational buildings. Most of the university's employees over the age of 65 have already been vaccinated.

Vaccination of people over 50 has started in the country today. University employees from this category participated in the vaccination process.

Rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, Vice-Rectors Natig Talibov and Ramiz Huseynov were vaccinated against COVID-19 on February 17.
