Today, Sumgayit State University, which expands its international relations year by year, plays an important role in the integration of our country into the world. The university cooperates with higher education institutions of Turkey, Iran, USA, Russia, England, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Lithuania, Hungary, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Israel, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements and international projects. It is a member of the Association of Caspian State Universities.

Against this background, on February 24, Professor Akbar Aghayev, Head of the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, gave an online lecture on "Catalytic Processes" to third-year students majoring in chemical technology at the Institute of Technology of the North Caucasus Federal University. The lecture of the professor, which is a chapter of general chemical technology, combining the latest and modern achievements of science and technology in this field, caused great interest among students.

At the end, the head of the Department of Chemical Technology and Machines of Chemical Production, Associate Professor Pavlenko Yelena Nikolayevna thanked Professor Akbar Aghayev on behalf of the university administration and students for an interesting lecture. She noted that the students of the University, which is a member of the Azerbaijan-Russia Association of Higher Education Institutions, still live with the good impressions of the Summer School "Travel to Land of Fire Azerbaijan" held at SSU at the initiative of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association and the Ministry of Education. The students, masters, dissertators, professors and teachers actively participate in events within the framework of joint projects between universities in the field of education and science, in international scientific conferences organized at both universities.

The event, held online, stressed the importance of further expanding ties and continuing classes in other areas.
