SSU REPRESENTATIVE PARTICIPATED IN A WEBINAR ON THE ERASMUS + JEAN MONNET PROGRAM
On April 29, Parvin Bagirov, Director of the National Erasmus + Office in Azerbaijan, organized a webinar on the Erasmus + Jean Monnet program. The guest of the webinar was Anar Valiyev, an associate professor at ADA University and the winner of the latest Jean Monnet Chair project. Anar Valiyev made a presentation on the Jean Monnet grant program and shared his experience with the participants. He said that the purpose of the Jean Monnet grant program is to support and develop research on the European Union around the world. The program promotes best practices in teaching and research on the European integration process at the tertiary level to a wide range of target groups in a variety of fields.
For information, we would like to bring to your attention the goals of the program:
To promote education and research in the field of European integration among specialized educators, learners and citizens around the world; To support the activities of associations active in the field of European integration research;
Encourage political discussions and dialogue between the academic community and politicians on the priorities of EU policy; To provide students and young professionals with knowledge on EU issues relevant to their academic activities and careers and to develop their active civic habits; To promote innovation in teaching and research (eg cross-sectoral and / or multidisciplinary research, open education, networking with other ATMs, etc.).
The Jean Monnet program consists of three main components:
1. Teaching and research;
2. Discussions and dialogue in the field of policy;
3. Support for associations.
The maximum funding for the Jean Monnet modules, which are part of the teaching and research components, is € 30,000. The maximum funding for the Jean Monnet Centers of Excellence is € 100,000.
It should be noted that the Jean Monnet grant program has already started accepting applications. The deadline for submission of documents is June 2, 2021.
The online webinar was attended by about 80 representatives from about 20 universities, as well as Natavan Guliyeva, an employee of the Department of International Cooperation and Foreign Students from Sumgayit State University. At the end, the questions of the meeting participants were answered.
