On May 21, the Department of World Economy and Marketing of Sumgayit State University organized an online event entitled "Economic views of our great poet Nizami Ganjavi."

The event was attended by professors and students of the faculty, the head of the department of Theoretical bases of economic policy and history of economic thought of the Institute of Economics of ANAS professor Gulshan Yuzbashiyeva and senior researcher of the department cand.econ.sc., associate professor Mustafayev Asif.

Speaking at the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Aynura Yahyayeva conveyed the greetings of Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov to the participants of the event and thanked everyone who contributed to the meeting. The dean spoke about the importance of the "Year of Nizami" and the unique legacy of the great poet. She noted that literature, philosophy, astronomy, natural, historical and economic sciences were studied in the works of Nizami Ganjavi, a bright face of the culture and public opinion of the Azerbaijani people.

Gulbas Rustamova, a senior lecturer at the Department of World Economy and Marketing, informed the participants about the purpose and significance of the event. She noted that this Order of President Ilham Aliyev is of human significance on the eve of the 880th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi and stressed that the traditions started with Heydar Aliyev are being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev today. The announcement of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" and the special attention paid to our national and moral values in the speeches of the head of state is an indicator of the successful continuation of Heydar Aliyev"s policy.

Participating in the event as a guest, the head of the department "Theoretical bases of economic policy and history of economic thought" of ANAS prof. Gulshan Yuzbashiyeva spoke about the economic views in the works of the great thinker Nizami Ganjavi. She noted that the ideas of economic development created by our genius thinker Nizami Ganjavi, socially just society, science and labor are the main source of ideas in our socio-economic strategies today.

Then the students made a report on the topics: second-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management Tacir Alizadeh on "Economic and social characteristics of the Nizami period", Turan Jafarova "Nizami"s economic views on the production process, factors of production" Joshgun Abdullayev "Nizami"s views on the consumption process, its socio-economic nature", Nuriya Huseynova "Nizami"s economic views and ideas on exchange, trade", Aytaj Sahibzade "Nizami"s economic views on money", master Farid Mammadov "Nizami"s views on the socio-economic life of society", Konul Behbudova "Nizami"s economic views on labor, division of labor and wealth". The speakers spoke about the importance of the "Year of Nizami" and the unique legacy of the great poet.

Students: Ulviya Huseynzadeh recited Nizami Ganjavi"s poems "Father"s advice to his son", Hanifa Zamanova "Treasure of Wisdom" and "If I had such an authority".

Shafa Aliyev, Professor of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, said that our great poet Nizami Ganjavi, giving great value to science, expressed his views on directing his readers and society to science, that science is the main driving force of economic development. His call to work and read constantly is one of the main demands of today. In this regard, our genius thinker has a special place in the history of economic thought.

Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Department of World Economy and Marketing of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Malahat Panahaliyeva said that the great thinker, who puts work and human freedom above all else, is living with his progressive ideas today not only in Azerbaijan, but also in world literature.

At the end of the event, talented students of the faculty presented paintings dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi via video.
