GLOBAL FORUM: EDUCATION TRANSFORMATION
An international event on “Education Transformation” hosted by Western Caspian University was organized by Times Higher Education and Western Caspian University on June 14.
The main purpose of the forum is to define the role of universities in quality education, which is one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning David Atchoatena, Director of the Institutional Development Department of the European University Association Tia Loukkola, Vice-Rector of the University of Auckland Dawn Freshwater and Vice-Rector of the University of Gothenburg Eva Wiberg, founder of the Western Caspian University Professor Huseyn Bagirov, MPs Shahin Seyidzade and Pervin Kerimzade Rector of Western Caspian University Andris Leitas and ADA University Vice-Rector Fariz Ismayilzadeh delivered speech in the event. In their reports, the speakers touched upon the issues of improving the commitment of universities to access to education, the creation of inclusive education models, the acquisition of lifelong learning skills. During the event, participants were able to address questions to the speakers through interactive communication.
The global forum was attended by about 300 universities from 66 countries and more than 100 international organizations.
Sumgayit State University was represented at the event by Sadagat Fatullayeva, an employee of the Department of International Cooperation and Foreign Students.
