An online scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 99th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held entitled "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is the Founder of Independent Azerbaijan."

First, the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the conference, the rector of the university professor Elkhan Huseynov, greeted the participants and spoke about the honorable  life of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his rich activities, rescue mission, as well as the unparalleled services rendered by the Azerbaijani people in difficult times. He noted that the strength, intelligence, courage, political will and wisdom of individuals have an irreplaceable role in the life of the nation. Among these personalities the  founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, National Leader Heydar Aliyev has a special place. The rector said  that the basic principles of Azerbaijan's development were laid by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and stressed that Azerbaijan is recognized and supported in the world as a developed, secure and reliable partner state.

Professor Shirkhan Salimov head of the department of History of the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe  made a report on "The great leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of independent Azerbaijan." He noted that the 99th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, world-famous political figure Heydar Aliyev is celebrated in our country with great respect, as every year the invaluable services of the genius to our people are invaluable.

Professor Shirkhan Salimov stressed that the great leader Heydar Aliyev was a phenomenal figure in the history of Azerbaijan  with the return of Heydar Aliyev to power, the Azerbaijani statehood was saved from great dangers, the country's socio-political, socio-economic, scientific cultural life and international relations changed. Today, Azerbaijan founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev  develops in the international arena under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The success of Azerbaijan is based on the determination of President Ilham Aliyev and  the political and spiritual heritage of the Great Leader.

Head of the department of Process Automation professor Javanshir Mammadov "Heydar Aliyev and World Azerbaijanis", lecturer of Sumgayit State Technical College Leyla Meybullayeva "Zarifa Aliyeva is an eternal  living being  in the hearts of the Azerbaijani people", 1st course undergraduate of Engineering, chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee Tayfun Hajili “Patriotic education comes from the school of Heydar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev ", Latifa Ahmadova, a second-year student of the faculty of Philology " The role of Heydar Aliyev in the development of Azerbaijani culture spoke about  mentioned topics. " They told  about the multifaceted activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his unparalleled historical services to the development of Azerbaijan and the strengthening of national statehood and the great rescue mission.
