This year, the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University is celebrated. On the occasion of the anniversary, a group of teachers of the university visited Bilasuvar district and met with the head of Bilasuvar District Executive Power, public representatives, employees of Shirvan-Salyan Regional Education department and graduates of SSU.

In the meeting held at Nizami Ganjavi secondary school No. 1 in Bilasuvar city, employees of the Shirvan-Salyan Regional Education department, Bilasuvar intellectuals, educational workers of the district  graduated from SSU in different years, senior students of general education schools, including employees of Sumgayit State University: Trade Union Committee chairman Nemat Ibayev, director of the university"s Career center Amirkhan Isayev, head teacher of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology Ali Rzazade participated.

First, the souls of our heroic martyrs who died for the freedom of our land were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Sanan Mansimli, head of the Shirvan-Salyan Regional Education Department,  opened the meeting with an introductory speech, congratulated the staff on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University. Speaking about the scientific and pedagogical activity of SSU with rich traditions, the speaker noted that it is a gratifying fact that young people who graduate every year from Bilasuvar  choose this educational institution for the entrance exams.

Then, the chairman of the TUC of SSU, associate professor Nemet Ibayev, greeted the event participants and spoke about the historical development path of SSU over the past 60 years. He said that Sumgayit State University, which was founded in 1962, is taking successful steps by benefiting from advanced international experience, the successes of the national education system, and its rich traditions of 60 years. Over the years, Sumgayit State University has become a prestigious scientific and educational center of the country and the region thanks to the historical services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the attention and care of his political successor, our honorable President Ilham Aliyev.

At the meeting, head of SSU"s Career center, associate professor Amirkhan Isayev and head teacher, writer-publicist Ali Rzazade said that during all periods of the university"s activity, it has provided with highly qualified personnel not only Azerbaijan, but also the industrial enterprises of the former Soviet Union, as well as a number of foreign countries and made valuable contributions to the development of the intellectual potential of our country. After that, we should show interest in increasing the flow of high school graduates from the regions to our university, which has a rich experience in the training of professional personnel and qualified specialists.

Bilasuvar intellectuals, as well as educational workers of the region who graduated from SSU  spoke at the meeting, which was held with great interest, and congratulated the university"s thousands of employees on the occasion of the anniversary. They  talked about the good memories of the years they studied at SSU and expressed their endless gratitude to the management and teachers of the university.

Then a video was shown about the activities of Sumgayit State University and its achievements. On behalf of the management of Sumgayit State University gifts were presented to a group of graduates of the university.

Within the framework of the meeting, the delegation of SSU was received by the head of Bilasuvar District Executive Authority, Faig Gurbatov. The  executive head  greeted the guests, congratulated the rector and staff on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University. He spoke about the scientific-pedagogical activity of SSU with rich traditions, the state care shown to the development of science and education in our country and the ideas of the great leader were successfully implemented by the President of Azerbaijan  Ilham Aliyev.

In his speech, the executive head spoke about the socio-economic and infrastructure projects implemented in Bilasuvar. It is the result of the right socio-economic policy conducted in the country that today our country has achieved comprehensive development. It is very important to hold such meetings in this direction.
