On November 2, on the eve of the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University, employees of the department of History and its teaching methodology of the faculty of History and geography, as well as a group of students studying History and geography visited the Museum of National  Education.

The museum guide informed that the Museum of National Education was founded in 1932. Documents and materials about educators, scientists, intelligent persons,leading teachers, educational institutions, photos reflecting the educational process and other exhibits are displayed here. The exposition of the museum, which is based on scientific-historical foundations and adheres to chronological sequence   is placed in six halls.

In the first hall of the museum, documents and materials reflecting the history of pedagogical thought and education in Azerbaijan since ancient times, the holy book of Islam "Quran-Karim" from the 18th century, which was used as a textbook in primary schools and madrasas in Azerbaijan from the 8th century to the 20s of the 20th century are kept. Hall II of the museum: Education at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Hall III: Education in 1918–40, Hall IV: Development of higher and secondary education, Hall V: Establishment of orphanages, boarding schools, in 1941–45, 1946–80 and development, includes documents and materials on the activities of general education and technical vocational schools.

VI hall of the museum is dedicated to the development of education in Azerbaijan during the years of independence. In the hall, "Heydar Aliyev and education" reflecting the activities of  national leader Heydar Aliyev for the development of Azerbaijan  education, materials embodying the large-scale works of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the field of education and the care  by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for education are displayed.

The expositions in all halls of the museum on the rich history of education and enlightenment of Azerbaijan were watched with great interest by the lecturer-student staff.

During the excursion, students" questions were answered.
