November,10, in Sumgait State University, the national poet, playwrightand member of the National Academy of Sciences, professor Bakhtiyar Vahabzade’s 90th anniversary was celebrated.
Opening the meeting, Vice Rector on Science and Innovation Affairs, professor Ramazan Mammadov noted that a decree signed bythe president IlhamAliyev on the 90th anniversary of the poet is a good example for the value given to the great poet. 
Acting dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Avtandil Agbabasaid in his speech that Vahabzade is one of the prominent poets of Azerbaijani literature. 
It should be noted that "Bakhtiyar Vahabzade irsinin oyredilmesi" teaching aid by associate professor Avtandil Agbaba is a deep respect to the poet’s spirit.
The poet’s poems were performed by the students at the event.
