On April 14, a business meeting was held between SAIPEM, one of the largest oil and gas companies in Italy, and the delegation of SSU. The meeting was attended by Ilham Eminbeyli -director of the branch of the Italian SAIPEM company in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ayten Hasanova - director of Sustainable Development, Foreign affairs and relations, Nazakat Efendiyeva - Human Resources Manager, Vusal Malikov - Human Resources Coordinator, and Almaz Ibrahimova - Training Coordinator, and vice-rector for General Affairs from SSU Asad Mammadov, dean of the faculty of Engineering, associate professor Ulduz Agayev, head of the department of Petroleum Chemistry and chemical engineering-professor Akbar Agayev, head of the Scientific department associate professor Samir Orujov, head of the Quality Assurance department Narmin Hasanova, director of the Strategic Development Center, associate professor Gunel Pashayeva.

First, a promotional video of SSU was presented. Then detailed information was given with a presentation about the development dynamics of the university. During the meeting, a broad range of ideas was exchanged. Issues such as the conducting of SAIPEM company"s research in the field of carbon-free energy sources with the department of Petrochemistry and chemical engineering of the faculty of Chemistry and biology of SSU, the holding of the HAKATON series of events at the Innovation and Creativity Center at SSU, the creation of a BRAINSTORMING team for SAIPEM company consisting of teachers and students of SSU formed the basis of the negotiations.

In the end, it was considered appropriate to continue the business meetings between the parties.
