On May 2, an event called "Heydar Aliyev-100" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Secondary School No. 10 named after Jalil Safarov in Sumgayit city, jointly organized by the faculty of Philology of SSU . At the event, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, dean of the faculty of Philology of SSU, deputy dean Zohra Gafarova, associate professor Buyukkhanim Eminli, head of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, senior lecturer of the department Ali Rzayev, representative of Absheron-Khizi Regional Education Department Gunel Zeynalova, associate professor of Baku State University Aydin Mammadov, the director of kindergarten No. 4 Gulnar Aliyeva attended the event.

Samra Guluzade, the director of school No. 10, opened the event with an introductory speech, noting the essence and relevance of the event, and said that the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev is  widely celebrated with high respect and deep gratitude.

Associate professor, dean of the faculty of Philology of SSU Sevinj Hamzayeva, senior lecturer  of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology Ali Rzayev  spoke and emphasized the unparalleled services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the history and culture of Azerbaijan. They noted Heydar Aliyev will live forever and will always be remembered. Heydar Aliyev created a valuable history not only for Azerbaijan, but also for mankind with his practical activities. This is the history of the immortality of human ideas, the invincibility of freedom, humanity, reason and thinking, and people's love.

The speakers once again noted that history  forms with difficulties. Although time changes, history is eternal. Heydar Aliyev is also eternal and immortal.

Later, talented students of the school performed beautiful musical numbers and recited poetry. The wonderful performances of the "Sema" dance group of SSU, students Narmin Kardashkhanli, Vafa Mammadova, Nushiravan Guliyev and Lala Khalilova were received with special love.

At the end of the event, an exhibition of handicrafts dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was shown  by talented students of the school.
