On May 4, the International scientific conference held in online format on the topic "Heydar Aliyev and the Turkic world: social, economic and cultural relations" started its work at Sumgayit State University.

In addition to Azerbaijani universities, scientists from leading universities of Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries also participated in the conference.

First, a video about the life and activities of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was shown. The dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.

SSU vice-rector for Science and innovation professor Ramazan Mammadov opened the conference, conveyed the greetings of the rector professor Elkhan Huseynov to the participants and wished success to the work of the conference and talked about its importance. Emphasizing the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev as a significant event in the history of Azerbaijan, the vice-rector noted that every year on the eve of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev's birthday, the memory of the genius is commemorated with deep respect in a series of events held in various institutions and organizations of our republic, including SSU.

Professor Ramazan Mammadov noted that the National Leader carried out strategic work for the interests of Turkic-speaking peoples and the interests of Azerbaijan, as well as his services in implementing large-scale projects in the region and strengthening unity among the countries of the Turkic world. He emphasized that this policy is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev and the heads of independent Turkish states, it is an example for the present and future generations, and it will live forever in the memory of our people.

Later, professor of Hacettepe University, Honorary Doctor of SSU, Shukru Akal, greeted the conference participants and gave a wide report on "Researches on Haydar Aliyev's speech". He spoke about the rich heritage of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the history of the Turkic world, and stated that Heydar Aliyev took far-sighted steps for the formation of unity in the Turkic world with his superior intelligence and implemented global projects that united Turkic-speaking countries.

Then professor Ramazan Mammadov, vice-rector of Sumgayit State University for Science and innovation, "The Heydar Aliyev stage of the state language policy in Azerbaijan", Imperiyat Khalipayeva, professor of Dagestan State Pedagogical University, "Dagestan-Azerbaijan cultural relations", associate professor of Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz, Irishti Kuttimuratova, "Creation of Abay" and moral values of the Turkic people", Begayim Jaliyeva, associate professor of the National University of Kyrgyzstan named after Jusup Balasag, "Heydar Aliyev's contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijani cultural relations" made a speech.They stated that the establishment and expansion of relations with the Turkic world occupied an important place in the activities of the National Leader.
