On May 24, an open lesson was held in the format of an event dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Azerbaijan People"s Republic, organized by students of the 4th year of the 921st group of the faculty of Philology of SSU, in the Matlab Guliyev secondary school No. 3, Sumgayit city.

The event was attended by the school management, teachers, student staff, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, deputy dean for scientific affairs, Tore Mammadova, head of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, associate professor Buyukkhanim Eminli.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the director of school No. 3 Ulkar Chandirli greeted the participants, noted the essence and relevance of such open lessons and stated that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was the first democratic republic not only in Azerbaijan, but in the entire East. APC, which aimed to establish an independent, free, democratic republic, and demonstrated that the republic was capable of determining its own destiny. As can be seen from the "Declaration of Independence" adopted on May 28, 1918, this great history strengthened our people"s feelings of independence and was the legal, political and moral successor of modern Azerbaijan.

The students of "6B" class, who participated in the open lesson, were divided into groups named "Khari Bulbul", "Veten", "Zafar", "Bayrag". ” group. The groups gave information: "Khari Bülbül" group- establishment of ADR, "Vatan" group -the founders of ADR, "Bayrag" group military policy of ADR, “Bayrag” group - foreign policy of ADR. Later, the students sang songs  and recited poems.

Associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, dean of the faculty of Philology of SSU, made a speech and emphasized the great services of ADR in the development history of Azerbaijan. She said that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev noted that ADR has a special place in the history of Azerbaijan and highly appreciated its 23-month activity. On January 30, 1998, the National Leader signed a special Decree on holding the 80th anniversary of the ADR. On May 16, 2017, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev signed the Decree "On the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan People"s Republic", followed by another Decree signed on January 10, 2018, declaring 2018 the "Year of the Azerbaijan People"s Republic" was a continuation of this tradition.
