On May 25-26, the director of the Language and Translation Center of SSU, Zhala Mammadova, the teachers of the Foreign Languages Department, Khatira Yusibova, Hagigat Valiyeva, Aytan Bunyatova and Gunay Murtuzayeva participated in the "The English Language Day" training for high school teachers organized with the cooperation of the Baku American Center of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan University of Languages. The training was held under the special program of the American Center US State Department. In the official opening part of the training, the director of the Center, Shahla Khudiyeva, the head of the International Relations Department of AUL Fiyala Abdullayeva, and official diplomats of the US Embassy Baku Lihi Rosenthal and Beata Angelica, greeted the participants and wished them success in their scientific activities.

On the first day of the training, Nadia Felecan - trainer of the Center made presentation on topic "Problem based learning" and then Fulbright ETA coordinators Ariella Kissin and Beyza Yazıcı  "Creative and arts-based approaches to the English language learning".

On the second day of the training, Fulbright US.Scholar coordinator Elnur Hajiyev made presentation on topic "Bringing storytelling to life: How to integrate narrative into the educational experience" and associate professor of AUL Huzura Aghayeva "Task based learning" (Task-based learning). Teachers were given a number of tasks during the training and as a result, live analyses of the discussed issues were delivered. At the end of the training, individual anonymous surveys were conducted with the participants regarding what actual topics should be discussed in the future.
