On the occasion of June 1 - International Children"s Day, the dean of the Philology faculty of Sumgayit State University, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva, associate professor Aytekin Mammadova, head of the department of Pedagogy and psychology, deputy dean of the faculty for Training and Education Zohra Gafarova, and tutor Gunay Alkhasova spoke about the liberation of our lands from occupation during the 44-day Patriotic War. They met with the children of the martyr Mehrab Niftaliyev, the chief ensign of the Special Forces, who was heroically martyred. Sevinj Hamzayeva congratulated the children on behalf of the university administration and presented them with gifts on the occasion of International Children"s Day.

Then the dean noted that in accordance with the policy of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, the members of the families of martyrs, children are surrounded by all kinds of attention and care of the state. She stated that the protection of children"s rights is one of the priority directions in the activities of First vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva.

During the meeting, Mehrab Niftaliyev"s wife Vusala Niftaliyeva expressed her deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and First vice-president Mehriban  Aliyeva for their attention and care  to the families of the martyrs. She also expressed her special thanks to SSU Rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov for today"s organized meeting.

It should be noted that Mehrab Niftaliyev, who was on the front line from the first day of the Patriotic war, showed heroism in the battles for Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Zangilan, Khojavand - especially Hadrut settlement and Shusha. Mehrab Niftaliyev attained martyrdom on November 8, 2020 in Shusha. On November 11, he was laid to rest in Sumgait city Martyrs" Alley. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of the Patriotic War" by the Orders of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, including medals "For the motherland", "For the liberation of Shusha", "For the liberation of Jabrayil", "For the liberation of Fuzuli".
