VOLLEYBALL COMPETITIONS WERE STARTED AT SSU WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ‘YEAR OF SOLIDARITY FOR THE GREEN WORLD’
In accordance with the Event Plan approved by SSU regarding the ‘Year of Solidarity for the Green World’, inter-student volleyball competitions were started on March 2, jointly organized by the Student Union Committee and the Sports Club.
The vice-rector for social affairs and public relations of the university, associate professor Elmar Khalilov, opened the competition and spoke about the work done in the direction of sports development in our country. He noted that new ones are added to the university's achievements in the field of sports every year. On a regular basis, mass competitions are held at the higher education institution in many types of sports.
It should be noted that the teams of 6 faculties of the university and Sumgait State Technical College are participating in the competition.
Based on the results of the competition, the Faculties of Engineering, Mathematics, Economics and Management and Natural Sciences qualified for the semi-finals, which will take place on March 16.
