On March 6, at Sumgayit State University, a seminar was held within the framework of the "Energy talks" project implemented by the Energy Regulatory Agency (ERA) with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy, ERA and professors and teachers of SSU, as well as doctoral students, master's students and students.

The rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, opened the seminar with an opening speech, greeted the participants and pointed out that the event was organized within the framework of the Action Plan regarding the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in our country. He noted that educational measures in the direction of environmental protection and health, sensitivity in the use of water resources and efficient use of sustainable energy sources will give benefit to scientific research.

Zeynab Kazymova, head of the press department of ERA, expressed her gratitude to rector Rufat Azizov for the warm welcome  and said that the institution she represents cooperates with universities that train personnel in the field of energy.

The scientific seminar continued with the presentation of a video clip on the activities of the Energy Regulatory Agency.

Elmar Gulaliyev, head of ERA department of Energy Liberalization and Investment Attraction, delivered a report on "Review of the energy system in the Republic of Azerbaijan and goals in the field of renewable energy". In this direction, the head of the department, who gave information about the legislation and normative legal acts in our country, emphasized the importance of increasing the dynamics of development in renewable energy production, as well as the importance of the private sector among these goals. In this regard, Elmar Gulaliyev noted that one of the main goals for our country is to increase the weight of renewable energy to 30 percent by 2030.He pointed out that the effect is to reduce the emissions of gases to 35 percent.

At the end of the event, opinions were exchanged about the reports and questions were answered.
