On April 16, the final stage of the VII Debate-speech tournament dedicated to the ‘Green World Solidarity Year’ organized by Student Union Universities and Debate Club was launched in Sumgait State.

Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov, vice-rector for social protection and activities of the university, opened the event, congratulated the team, and said that various operations were carried out in accordance with the Action Plan for the abolition of SSU in connection with declaring the winner of 2024 ‘Green World Solidarity Year’, emphasized the special role of young people in this process.

Then, the speech of the head of SSU Debate Club, Anar Gurbanov, gave detailed information about the results of the tournament, ‘The transition to the use of alternative energy sources is a must for the countries of the world’ and the prospective debate-speech tournament. He noted that 14 teams participated in the Debate forum and the competition was observed by the judges of the Debate Civil Society, as well as the judges of the students of our university. The team ‘Eros’ of the Faculty of Mathematics and ‘Realism’ of the Faculty of Philology proved their strength and qualified for the finals. The ‘Eros’ team of the Faculty of Mathematics won the tournament.

At the end, the winning team was presented with a trophy, and the best speakers were presented with certificates.
