The fifth Republic contest ''Scientists of Tomorrow'' was over

On the 11th of February the opening of the fifth Republic Ceremony was held at the Central Scientific Library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
The students of IX-XI classes of secondary schools participated at the competition, which was organized by ANAS, Ministers of Education, Youth, Sport, Heydar Aliyev Center, Azerbaycan Education Workers, The Committee of Trade Union.
The main aim of the organization of the contest is to give an opportunity to students to demonstrate their scientific achievements and to determine the candidates to participate at the annual ISEF Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, which is hold in USA.
The Minister of Education Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov said in his speech that education has always been attached great importance by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, and successful implementation of his ideas expressed by President Ilham Aliyev. The Minister stressed the importance of ""National Strategy for Development of Education in  Azerbaijan Republic"" and spoke about the contest and achievements in accordance with this important document. He stressed that Azerbaijani students gain heartwarming success in International Subject Olimpiads.
Mr.Mikayil Jabbarov said that the countries of the world and new challenges make new demands for Azeri Youth to build a highly skilled society. Among the main objectives of  reforms carried out at Educational Institutions of the country the common sense, civic activities of adults are of great importance.
The President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizade stressed the importance  of documents signed by President Iham Aliyev in the fields of science and education. Academician Akif Alizade stressed importance of cooperation between scientific and educational institutions.
The Vice-Minister of Sport and Youth Intigam Babayev, the manager for CIS Competition corporation Tatyana Nanayeva stressed the importance of increasing young people"s interest in science, their talent, skills and potensial.
It should be noted that the countries 11 cities and IX-XI grade students in 129 secondary schools took part at the contest ""Scientists of Tomorrow"" with the scientific projects. 87 of them were collectively and 42 were the individual projects. The contest was held in eight categories. A jury consisting of the leading scientists was created to estimate the project in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine and Health, Ecology, Engineering, Computer Science. Scientific Support to the competition to Baku State University, Sumgayit State University, Azerbaijan Technological University, Nakhchivan State University and Caucasus University was recommended by the Minister of Education Mr.Mikayil Jabbarov.
The competition lasted 3 days. On the last day ""the open door"" hours were organized.
Afterwards, 3 projects authors" names participating at the Intel ISEF-Intel International Science and Engineering Fair were announced, which were selected by a jury.
32 projects of 56 students studying in classes IX-XI of schools 1,9,11,16,21,22,26,30,31,32, Sumgayit TETG, TTEL ""Tefekkur" Lyceum, "Istedad" Lyceum participated at the competition. 13 students who submitted projects were awarded the second and the third places, the American Meteorological Agency"s Certificates of honor and their author students were awarded silver and bronze medals.
At the same time the assosiate professor of Sumgayit State University, who leads Sumgayit students, hold the seminar on ""Developed methods of inventive talent"".
Diplomas, medals and prize money were presented.
