On the occasion of International Women`s Day meeting was held on March,7 at Sumgait State University. Rector of the University, professor Elkhan Huseynov congratulated all the women and wished them success in their future endeavors.
Talking about the role of women in family and society, rector noted that woman`s name - a symbol of elegance and beauty, is always elevated. In all periods Azerbaijani women  with their talents, intellect,  will and determination, have exceptional services in preservation of our national- spiritual values.
Azerbaijani woman is a doctor, a teacher, an architect, a military and social-political figure, as well as a loving mother and a devoted wife. After the second return to powerour nation-wide leader HeydarAliyev there was more active participation of women in the country`s socio-political and cultural life, women were involved state-building works. As a result of the policy pursued by President of our Republic Ilham Aliyev, equal opportunities in all spheres of public life are created for women today. In addition a wide-range representation of women with men in all spheres is a good example of respect shown to women in our country at the state level.  President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of the UNESCO and ISESCO, deputy Mehriban Aliyeva proves to the world that Azerbaijani woman can be both a wonderful mother and an active public figure. As a result of the government`s support, women are adequately represented in all areas of the country. Chairman of the Sumgait Veterans Council LeylaGasimzade on behalf of veterans congratulated all the women who are taking an active part in strengthening of our government by wisdom words of the great leader HeydarAliyev:  “Azerbaijani woman is recognized in history for her  boundless love to the nation and native land with her mind, intellect, honor, chastity, sacrifice, hard work, honesty and patriotism.
The event was continued by students` dancing and cheerful songs of well-known singers such as honored artists YusifMustafayev, AlmazSarayli and others.
