An event dedicated to International Teachers' Day held at Sumgayit State University
On October 2, an event was organized at Sumgayit State University (SSU) on the occasion of October 5 - International Teachers' Day. The event was opened by SSU Acting Rector, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Aminaga Sadigov who congratulated all teachers on the occasion of the significant day on behalf of the university's teaching staff. He spoke about the high position of the teaching profession in our society and the honorable and responsible mission of this profession. In his speech, the rector emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev always held the title of teacher in high esteem, and pointed out that this tradition has been consistently continued by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the extensive opportunities created by the state for improving the social well-being and professional development of teachers have made a significant contribution to the reputation of this field. Professor Aminaga Sadigov said that the achievements of Sumgayit State University in recent years are largely due to the dedicated and efficient teaching staff in the field of education. The fact that applicants who scored high in the school entrance exams chose teaching majors was evaluated as a clear indicator of the high value society places on this profession. A.Sadigov noted that currently teachers face very responsible tasks. The image of a modern university teacher has moved away from the traditional "teacher - knowledge carrier" model and combines the functions of a knowledge guide, researcher, and motivator. He is not only a teacher, but also a person who shapes the student's way of thinking and encourages independent learning. It serves as an educational and intellectual example for society.
Later, a group of teachers who distinguished themselves in the university's public life and scientific and pedagogical activities were awarded honorary certificates and gifts by the SSU administration.
