On October 13, a conference dedicated to the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" was held at the initiative of the first instance courts operating in Sumgayit. The event was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Sumgayit. Teachers and students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of Sumgayit city - Sumgayit State University, Sumgayit Technical College, Sumgayit Music College and Sumgayit Medical College attended at the conference. First, judges and court chairmen visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers, and paid tribute to his memory. Then, the event participants got acquainted with the expositions and photo stands dedicated to the life and activities of the Great Leader at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The conference began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and then the dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Then, a video clip on the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" was shown. At the conference, Chairman of the Sumgayit Commercial Court Islam Aliyev spoke on the topics of "The role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in the development of the legal statehood of Azerbaijan, the protection of the Constitution and sovereignty", Judge of the Sumgayit Administrative Court Mehriban Mahmudlu-Abbaszade on "Basic principles of the Constitution and civil rights", Judge of the Sumgayit Grave Crimes Court Nahid Mirzayev on "The principle of separation of state power based on the articles of the Constitution", and Judge of the Sumgayit City Court Farid Nasimiyev on "Sovereignty and Constitutional guarantees of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
