An info session was held on the “Rebuild Karabakh” hackathon at SSU

An info session was held for students on the "Rebuild Karabakh" hackathon at Sumgayit State University (SSU) within the framework of the "Smart City, Green Future: World Urban Forum (WUF) 2026" project, organized by the Career and Alumni Center.

Director of the Career and Alumni Center, Anar Dunyamaliyev opened the event, welcomed the participants, and emphasized the importance of supporting students' innovative initiatives at the university.

Then, the head of the "Smart City, Green Future: WUF 2026" project, Gunel Gurbanova spoke about the goals of the project and provided general information. She stated that the main goal of the project is to support the innovative ideas of young people, develop their technological skills, and contribute to the restoration of Karabakh.

Then, project coordinator Fatima Azizova provided detailed information about the "Rebuild Karabakh" hackathon. It was noted that the project was implemented with the support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations and the Public Union "For the Progress of Karabakh", and that the hackathon was based on the principles of sustainable development.

In the infosession, participants were provided with detailed information about the hackathon's directions (smart city management, green technologies, sustainable mobility, etc.), stages (registration, preliminary selection, mentor program, training stages), and evaluation criteria. Information was also provided about the mentoring and support opportunities provided for the winners, access to investors, and the right to participate in WUF13.

Presentations were made on how ideas can be developed on a platform in line with the principles of "Smart City, Green Future". At the end, students' questions were answered, and additional information about the rules for joining the hackathon and the registration process was provided.
