"Process Automation Engineering" specialty of SSU successfully passed international accreditation

"Process Automation Engineering" specialty of Sumgayit State University (SSU) has achieved a significant achievement by successfully passing international accreditation.

According to the agreement signed on October 17, 2022 between the prestigious ASIIN international accreditation agency located in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Sumgayit State University, the process of international accreditation of the educational program of the "Process Automation Engineering" specialty taught at the bachelor's level has been carried out.

For this purpose, the university has submitted extensive reports and relevant information in accordance with the requirements of the ASIIN. On October 10-12, 2024, the agency's expert team paid an assessment visit to the university. The group included Professor Madhukar Chandra, Chair, Chemnitz University, Professor Wolfgang Renz, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Alfred Schulte from Bosch, ADA University student Ilhama Novruzova, and project coordinator Paulina Petrachenko.

The experts inspected the laboratories and auditoriums of the university's Faculty of Engineering. During the meetings, the compliance of the educational environment with modern standards, professional development of teachers, examination processes, scientific and research activities, student mobility, and quality assurance mechanisms were discussed. At the same time, meetings were held with industrial partners and the university's infrastructure capabilities were assessed.

Based on the results of the assessment, by the decision of the accreditation commission of the ASIIN dated October 14, 2025, the educational program in the specialty "Process Automation Engineering" of Sumgayit State University has successfully passed international accreditation for a period of 5 years for 2024–2029.
