An orientation day was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU) for newly admitted foreign students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The aim of the event was to familiarize foreign students with the university's academic environment, socio-cultural life, rules and procedures, as well as to support their easier adaptation to the educational process. Acting Rector of the University, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Aminaga Sadigov noted in his speech that today the education strategy of our country is based on the fundamental principles established by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to this strategic approach, numerous Azerbaijani youth, including myself, have obtained higher education and advanced knowledge in foreign countries and have directed this knowledge towards the development of Azerbaijan's scientific, pedagogical and industrial potential. The concept of Azerbaijani youth studying abroad is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and state programs are being implemented for this purpose. He specifically noted Azerbaijan's growing global reputation as a result of its economic, social and political development in recent years, and said that this rise is also clearly evident in the field of education, and that as a result of modern education reforms implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is becoming the region's center of science and innovation. As a result, the interest of foreign youth in our country's higher education institutions has increased significantly. Professor Aminaga Sadigov emphasized that SSU is expanding its international relations, implementing modern educational programs, and creating favorable learning and living conditions for foreign students. He also provided detailed information about the social integration of foreign students, dormitory provision, as well as SSU's "Bright Future" Scholarship Program. Speaking at the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, foreign students shared their impressions of Azerbaijan, their views on the conditions created for them at SSU, as well as their suggestions regarding the educational process. They expressed their gratitude for the cordial meeting, saying that they were satisfied with the level of education at SSU and the conditions created for them in the dormitory.
