November 8 - On the occasion of Victory Day, Acting Rector of Sumgayit State University, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Aminaga Sadigov and the university's management visited Samaya Hashimova, mother of the National Hero of Azerbaijan, martyr Major General Polad Hashimov. During the visit, a sincere conversation was held with the martyr's family, and a corner created for Polad Hashimov was inspected at the house. The event commemorated the dear memory of martyr Major General Polad Hashimov with respect, and prayers were offered to all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland. During the conversation, professor Aminaga Sadigov spoke about the unparalleled services rendered by Major General Polad Hashimov to the Motherland, his bravery in battles, and the great respect he earned among the people. He noted that Polad Hashimov has become a symbol of heroism not only of the Azerbaijani Army, but also of our people as a whole. His bravery is a true example of patriotism for the younger generation, including the students of Sumgayit State University. Aminaga Sadigov noted that the brilliant victory we won with the multifaceted wise policy and decisive leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev not only restored the full independence and territorial integrity of our country, but also avenged all our martyrs, including General Polad Hashimov. This is our greatest consolation. Aminaga Sadigov emphasized that on such a glorious day as November 8 - Victory Day, visiting the family of martyr Major General Polad Hashimov is a moral duty for both the university staff and all Azerbaijanis. In conclusion, Aminaga Sadigov expressed gratitude to Samaya Khanum for raising a heroic son, once again expressed condolences to the martyr's family, and noted that the state and people have always held the souls and families of our martyrs in high regard. Samaya Khanum, in turn, expressed her gratitude to the head of state and the entire Azerbaijani people for the respect they showed to the memory of her son.
