On November 14, a competition was held in the name of “Ecological projects with Python” organized jointly by Mathematics and Informatics Teaching Technology Department of Mathematics Faculty and the Student Scientific Society.
In the two-stage competition, the “Biocoders”, “Ecopilots”, “Ecohackers” teams presented the innovative projects by using Python programming language regarding solving environmental problems. In the first stage, the teams demonstrated their previously prepared ecologically oriented projects, jury members evaluated their projects and asked questions. The second stage was held in QA format and each team was asked 5 questions totally about both Python and environmental issues.
According to the jury members decision the team “Biocoders” was announced the winner of the competition and awarded. At the end of the event, the dean of Mathematics Faculty, associate professor, Khalida Hasanova delivered a speech and congratulated the participants. She highly appreciated the students' ability to apply a technological approach to solving environmental problems and emphasized the importance of sustainability of such initiatives.
