On November 15, an inter-student chess competition dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” was held at Sumgayit State University. Students from the university and Sumgayit Technical College operating under the university have participated in the competition. Then Vice-rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the university, associate professor Elmar Khalilov noted that to declare 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” is of great significance for our country. This year plays an important role in terms of preserving our state’s independence, sovereignty and legal principles, promoting values among young generation. At the end of his speech, Vice-rector wished success to the participants.
In the tense and intriguing competition, the team of History and Geography took the first place, the team of Economy and Management Faculty took the second place, the team of Mathematics Faculty took the third place.
In the end, winners were awarded certificates.
