On February 4, an international roundtable was held at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic "Inter-university cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan: Regional aspect". The event was organized to further strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the fields of education, science, economy and culture.
The Acting Rector of Sumgayit State University, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov participated in the international round table in an online format. In his speech, he emphasized the strategic importance of expanding cooperation between universities in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, noting that joint scientific research, academic exchange programs and mutual initiatives play an important role in improving the quality of higher education. Aminaga Sadigov noted that such international platforms serve to form a sustainable partnership between universities and strengthen regional scientific potential. In his speech, the Rector of Atyrau University named after Khalel Dosmukhamedov Salamat Idrisov noted the strategic importance of cooperation between higher education institutions of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and noted that this partnership is an important factor for regional development.
The round table was also attended by laureates of the international scholarship program named after the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that since 2012, 70 students of Atyrau University have been awarded this prestigious scholarship, which is a clear indicator of the successful results of cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.
Within the framework of the event, Professor of the Department of Business Administration of SSU Shafa Aliyev and Associate Professor of the Department of History, Geography and Methodology Yusifali Hasanov who are currently on a visit to Kazakhstan within the framework of the academic exchange program between Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made speeches. Shafa Aliyev made a comprehensive presentation dedicated to the modern strategic aspects of Azerbaijani-Kazakh economic relations and analyzed the prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries. Yusifali Hasanov spoke about the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the field of education and science, emphasized the special importance of the international Heydar Aliyev scholarship program as a long-term, sustainable and successful model of cooperation.
Head of the Municipal Enterprise "Public Harmony" of the Department of Internal Policy of the Atyrau Region, Lazzat Zhilkishiyeva also spoke about the role of regional international cooperation in strengthening social harmony.
Honorary Professor of Atyrau University, Eldar Ahmadov emphasized the contribution of ethnocultural organizations to the development of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The international roundtable concluded with a mutual exchange of views, and the participants put forward a number of specific proposals for further expanding inter-university cooperation.
