Sumgayit State University (SSU) has launched “Open Days” in order to strengthen relations with applicants and guide them in choosing higher education. On April 9, a meeting was held at the university for senior students of secondary schools located in Sumgayit. At the event, which took place in the University’s Great Assembly Hall, a video clip was shown to the participants, providing detailed information about the educational, scientific and social life of the university.

Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of SSU, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov welcomed the participants and provided detailed information about the rich development path of the university, the city’s only higher education institution, its modern material and technical base, extensive international cooperation relations, achievements in the scientific and educational fields, as well as the favorable educational and social environment created for students. He noted that consistent and purposeful steps are being taken to ensure the sustainable and long-term development of the university. SSU has made significant progress in international rankings, especially in the QS ranking, which reflects the university's growing academic reputation and is the result of projects implemented to ensure the accessibility and sustainable development of the education system in our country. At the end of his speech, Elmar Khalilov gave valuable advice to students on choosing the right specialty. Then, Director of the Career and Alumni Center of SSU, Anar Dunyamaliyev made a presentation and spoke about the cooperation established with relevant organizations and institutions for the future career development of students and graduates, specialty selection opportunities, scholarship programs, as well as social and academic support mechanisms for students, dormitory provision and other opportunities. During the meeting, questions of interest to applicants were answered and detailed explanations were given to them about the higher education system. Then, the students visited the Heydar Aliyev Center, various faculties, auditoriums and laboratories, and the Library Information Center to get acquainted with the university.
