The high results of Sumgayit State University (SSU) in international and regional rankings are a result of the constant increase in the scientific metrics of our scientists. These ideas were voiced on April 9 at the training for the staff of the Faculty of Engineering on the topic “Research opportunities and excellent usage skills in Scopus and Web of Science international scientific reference databases” organized by the Department of Master's, Doctoral and Scientific Studies. The results of the activity of the teaching staff in the international scient metric and scientific reference databases “Scopus” (Elsevier company) and “Web of Science” (Clarivate company) were announced in the trainings organized for the employees of the faculties of Mathematics and Natural Sciences from March 16. It was also noted that a series of trainings and events will continue in order to familiarize themselves with the scientific results of the new era, as well as to develop activity on international platforms and increase academic productivity. The trainings to be held until the end of the academic year will continue to discuss the selection of high-impact-factor journals appropriate for scientific research topics, the preparation of articles in accordance with international requirements, their submission to scientific journals, compliance with scientific ethics rules and other topics. The next trainings will be held with the participation of employees of the faculties of History and Geography, Economics and Management, and Philology.
