On April 24, an official meeting was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU) with a delegation from Petre Andrei University operating in the Romanian city of Iasi. The meeting was of great importance in terms of expanding inter-university cooperation and discussing new partnership opportunities. Acting Rector of SSU, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov welcomed the guests and noted that Azerbaijan-Romania relations are developing dynamically and that these relations are also successfully continuing in the field of higher education. Aminaga Sadigov spoke about the achievements of Sumgayit State University in recent years and provided detailed information about the university's modern educational infrastructure, progress in international rankings, scientific and research potential, and steps taken towards integration into the global academic space. He emphasized that expanding SSU's international partnership network is one of the university's strategic development priorities. Rector of Petre Andrei University Sorin Bokancha expressed his gratitude for the high level of hospitality and informed about the academic activities of the higher education institution he leads, its participation in international projects and its position in the European educational space. He expressed his confidence that cooperation with SSU will be beneficial for both parties. Executive director of the prestigious Romanian magazine "Polis", Sabin Dragulin spoke at the meeting, noted that the publication is one of the first scientific and political magazines in the country. He presented the special issue of the magazine dedicated to Azerbaijan to the SSU leadership and expressed his intention to contribute to the development of academic and public-intellectual relations between the two countries. The meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of sincere and constructive discussions, resulted in a preliminary agreement on the implementation of joint scientific and research projects, promotion of academic staff and student exchange programs, as well as joint organization of international conferences and symposiums. The meeting was also attended by First Secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania, Ilgar Farajov and Head of the International Projects Management Sector of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Zulfiya Shafiyeva.
