On May 2, intellectual game, interfaculty knowledge competition dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Sumgait State University with the support of Sumgait State University Career Center, Student Union Committee, Azerbaijan Intellectual Games Federation and the Next Training Center. Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Career Center Director Zahid Bunyadov greeted the guests and mentioned the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the history of the Azerbaijani people and his  infinite care and attention to the Azerbaijani youth. He said that the main purpose of the competition was to create conditions for young people, to raise their intellectual level, to identify talented young people and to help them to have extensive knowledge about our history and our national and moral values.
The chairman of the Student Union Committee Nemat İbayev and the director of Next Training Center Kamran Mammadov  stressed the importance of the competition and pointed out the high intellect and knowledge of the youth. Speaking about the country"s youth policy and the President Ilham Aliyev"s care and attention to the young people the speakers  wished success  to the participants. The race began with the participation of teams. 
At the tournament of  intellectual games the  team groups were determined. The race was held with the participation of 16 teams. Demonstrating their knowledge various teams in the tournament struggled to gain the victory.
The winners of the competition were awarded  by the Center. 8 teams qualified for the semi-final stage will compete for first place on May 4 at "Peace Palace".
