Assistant Professor Islam Pashayev: I believe that our project will contribute to the food security of our country.
Any educational center is different from the others with its students’ intelectual capacity and is an example for them. SSU’s ENACTUS team consisting of the members of Students’ Scientifics Association got the second place in the contest. The lead scientist of Students Scientific Association – Islam Pashayev shared his happiness regarding our students’ achievements with us, and noted that it has been already 11 years that ENACTUS operates in Azerbaijan. ENACTUS with the power of entrepreneurship aims at bringing students, business and scientific leaders together to achieve development throughout the world. Lead by faculty members, academicians and business experts, participating students from different universities form teams and work on society-business related projects to increase living standards of societies. Not only does this experience bring changes, but also it helps students grow as valuable and influencing leaders of future. The program comes to an end after the end of annually held National contests wherein all projects are analyzed and winners are announced by the committee of leading business people. The champions get an opportunity to take part in World Cup tournament.
Team ENACTUS has already taken part in this kind of contest with the Project of “Panda School – Preschool Preparation Center” and has been awarded with certificates. Assistant Professor Islam Pashayev also noted that the particiapting team of SSU’s ENACTUS team travelled to the city of Shabran on May 15th. The goal of the trip was to analyze and get results of their project – “Natural feed to solve national food security challenges – Boll” and take photos and videos of the ongoing processes. Traditionally, with the financial assistance by the Youth Found under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, XI National Contest was held in Monolit Plaza this year, too. Many officials from the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Economic, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, representatives of the Yount Found, leading banks and companies of the country attented the event. 12 teams participated in the tournament. The first day witnessed  the opening ceremony of “ENACTUS Azerbaijan” National Contest, the presentation of teams, and drawing ceremony. On the second day of the tournament, the ENACTUS contest of 2015-2016 academic year was held. During the contest, participating teams presented their projects and results thereof. The ream represententing the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan became first in the tournament, and Sumgayit State University got the second place. The winning teams were awarded with cups and diplomas. We hereby would like to use this chance to thank our rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov for his help and contributions in implementing our project. Furthermore, other than winning places, the projects were nominated in five different fields. Here, Academy of Public Administration under the Republic of Azerbaijan was nominated with “The Best Innovation” project with “Life Keeper”, The State Economic University of Aerbaijan won the “The Best Business Project” award with “Perfect Pictures” project, “The Best Entrepreneurship Approach” award was won by our university with the project of “Boll”, Ganja State University was nominated with the “Best Social Project” award with “Souvenirs of Ganja” and last but not least, State Architechture and Construction University of Azerbaijan got nominated for their project “Gaf.Cards” as “The best IT Project”.
